1964 Jane Austen's Letters - Comprehensive Vintage Book

In very good condition here is a vintage hardback copy of Jane Austen's Letters To Her Sister Cassandra and Others, Collected and Edited by RW Chapman. Originally published in 1932 in two volumes, this is the 1964 reprinted second edition which was the first to be published in one volume with added research and letters. RW Chapman is widely regarded as the finest Jane Austen scholar. An extensive, comprehensive collection with a huge number of letters, black and white plates and extensive notes.

The contents are in very good condition with clean and tightly bound pages. Has a few pencil dashes and pencil ticks in the margins. The black and white plates are all very good and there are also maps (see photos).

In brown cloth covered boards. These have been very well protected by the original dust wrapper.

The unclipped dust wrapper has some edge-wear nicks and chips, and a couple of small brown blemishes. It has now been protected for the future by the addition of a removable plastic sleeve, and looks very smart and presentable.
