1950s Once Upon a Time - Stories From the Classics - Illustrated Vintage Book

In very good condition here is a super vintage copy of Once Upon a Time Children's Stories From the Classics Re-told by Blanche Winder. Undated but would have been published in the early 1950s by Ward, Lock & Co., London. With eighteen excellent colour plates by Harry G Theaker. More details below.

Inside the pages are in good condition being clean, bright and tightly bound with no writing or other markings of previous ownership. Has some spotting scattered through the text. All of the colour plates are present as called for, and in good condition. Also has charming colour illustrated endpapers. The top closed edge is tinted red, with some spotting to the other two edges.

In the original dust wrapper. These rarely survive with this series and this one is in top order. It has not faded and so has kept a good colour. The inner flap has been price-clipped and has a pencil name at the top (see photos). Otherwise just some very slight rubbing to the corners, and a small nick/crease on the bottom edge at the back.
