In good condition here is a vintage copy of Great Expectations by Charles Dickens. Published by Collins Clear-Type Press, London. The book is undated but research shows it would have been produced in the 1940s as part of Collins' Library of Classics series. Comes still in the original, scarce slipcase box.
With dark green faux leather covers and attractive silver decoration to the spine. These are superb having been well protected by the box. There is just a little rubbing on the back cover where the book goes in and out of the box.
The contents are also good. Opens with a black and white portrait frontispiece, else unillustrated. The pages are clean, bright and tightly bound with no writing, marks or signs of previous ownership. Has a chip out of the bottom of the half-title page (see photos). The outside edges are tinted dark green.
The slipcase also remains in very good condition, with no real sign of age of wear. It should continue to protect the book for many more years to come.
