In very good condition, here is a vintage hardback copy of Jane Austen A Survey by C Linklater Thompson. Being a first edition, published by Horace, Marshall & Son, London. With heavy spotting throughout the text, otherwise very good indeed.

A substantial, full‑length monograph, One of the more ambitious pre‑WWII attempts to situate Austen within the broader history of English fiction.

Inside the pages are clean and tightly bound, with the above-mentioned foxing. Inked inscription to the front free endpaper, but no other writing or markings of previous ownership. Unillustrated.

Navy-blue cloth over boards have gilt titles to the spine. Again, all in top order. Clean and smart.
