1927 Dracula by Bram Stoker - Antique Book

In very good condition, here is a super antique copy of Dracula by Bram Stoker. Published in 1927 by Rider & Co., London, (seventeenth edition). Scarce in this clean, square and tight condition. With tanning to pages and some fading to the front board being the main condition points to note. More details below.

This early edition captures the classic gothic atmosphere of Bram Stoker's masterpiece just three decades after its original 1897 debut. Early Rider editions of Dracula are highly sought after by vintage horror enthusiasts, as they represent the definitive era when the novel's popularity was exploding worldwide, right on the cusp of the landmark 1931 Universal Studios film adaptation.

Inside the pages are tanned, and have scattered foxing, but are otherwise clean and tightly bound. Pencilled initials to the front free endpaper, but no other writing or markings of previous ownership. Cracked hinge at the beginning opposite the half-title page to reveal webbing, and also at the very end. In no way effecting the binding which is good and strong. Has one small closed tear to one leaf's top edge.

Grey-blue boards have Gothic style black decoration to the front and spine. Mild rubbing to the corners and spine ends/hinges. The MAIN CONDITION POINT to note with this copy is fading to the front board on the left-hand third next to the spine, and round onto the spine itself (see photos). The black remains bright and otherwise this is a clean and bright, square book.
