1925 Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne / Sampson Low, Marston & Co., London / Original Dust Jacket / Two Illustrations

Here is a scarce vintage edition of Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne. Undated but was published in 1925 by Sampson Low, Marston & Co., London. The contents are in excellent condition, with the original dust jacket which has some wear to the spine ends. Underneath the dust wrapper there are superb decorative boards. Illustrated with two black and white plates.  Ninety-nine years old!

Inside the pages are in top condition being clean, bright and tightly bound. Quite possibly un-read. Has a prize book plate on the front paste down but no other writing or markings of precious ownership. With a black and white frontispiece and one further plate.

Red decorative boards are in superb condition having been well protected by the wrapper. With just a little fading at the spine ends where there has been loss to the wrapper covering that area.

The scarce dust wrapper is unclipped and is clean and bright. Has the loss at the spine ends (see close-up photos) and just a few small nicks along the edges. The jacket has now been protected for the future by the addition of a removable plastic sleeve.
