Here is a lovely antique illustrated edition of Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island. Being a first edition thus from 1911, published by Cassell & Company, London. With a colour illustrated title page and nine further colour plates plus a superb map at the beginning.
Inside the pages are clean and tightly bound with no writing or inscriptions. Has some mild spotting to the preliminary pages and then just some occasional scattered spotting in the text. Also has super illustrated colour endpapers. There is some brown glue showing along the margin where the treasure map is affixed (see photo). The top closed edge was originally tinted green, and most of this has now rubbed away. With some tanning and spotting to the closed fore-edge.
Olive-green cloth covered boards have an illustrated paste-down on the front. With gilt titles to the spine. The illustration on the front has some rubbing and a couple of faint dark marks. With some rubbing to the green cloth on the corners - to reveal boards beneath at the tips, and also rubbing to the spine ends. Otherwise clean, smart, tight and square.
A super version of the classic adventure story. Your antique copy of Treasure Island will be wrapped with care in tissue and ribbon* and sent well packaged. I am always happy to add a gift card with message to the parcel.
