1911 Alice Through the Looking-Glass by Lewis Carroll / Antique Pocket-Sized Edition / Macmillan & Co., London / Illustrated by John Tenniel

Here is a lovely antique pocket-sized edition of Alice Through the Looking-Glass by Lewis Carroll. Richly illustrated throughout with the original drawings of John Tenniel (see photos). Published in 1911 by Macmillan and Co., London in what they called their "Miniature Edition" (see dimensions below). This copy is 113 years old and so inevitably has a little wear (detailed below), but remains a super edition.

Inside the pages are clean, bright and tightly bound with just the odd spot. Gapes at the gutter in a couple of places but binding strong and tight. With no writing or inscriptions. This copy has developed a mild lean over time.

In red cloth covered boards with gilt central vignette and gilt titles to the spine. With some rubbing to the corners, with the board revealed at the bottom front corner tip. The red cloth on the front and back is clean, bright and un-faded, and the gilt central vignette is shiny. The red on the spine has faded in comparison to the front and back, and there is a darkened slightly frayed area on the front spine joint (see photos).
