Here is an antique copy of Blake's Vision of the Book of Job With Reproductions of the Illustrations, A Study by Joseph Wicksteed. This is a first edition published by JM Dent & Sons Ltd of London in 1910. Contents are in top condition - with some wear to the outer cloth. Condition in detail below.

William Blake's Illustrations of the Book of Job primarily refers to a series of twenty-two engraved prints (published 1826) by Blake illustrating the biblical Book of Job. The engraved Illustrations are considered to be Blake's greatest masterpieces in the medium of engraving and were also a rare commercial and critical success for Blake.

This study contains a lengthy series of introductory pieces and then each illustration is reproduced in monochrome with a full and detailed explanation next to it.

Inside the pages are clean, bright and tightly bound. There is some tanning to the endpapers and the occasional spot inside the text. Has a cracked hinge at the beginning, but in no way effecting the binding of the text block which is good and strong. The top edge is gilt.

In pale olive-green cloth covered boards with black and gilt decoration and titles. With a few faint marks to the upper board. Rubbing to the cloth around the extremities. Rubbing to reveal boards beneath at the corners. A little fraying to the cloth on the spine ends, with some small loss. A tiny hole in the cloth on the spine joint.
