In good condition, here is a charming antique hardback copy of Kenilworth by Sir Walter Scott. An exciting historical romance novel. Set in 1575, it leads up to the elaborate reception of Queen Elizabeth at Kenilworth Castle by the Earl of Leicester, who is complicit in the murder of his wife Amy Robsart at Cumnor. Undated but would have been published in the early 1900s by Thomas Nelson & Sons, London. With eight colour plate illustrations.
Inside the pages are clean and tightly bound with no writing or other markings of previous ownership. Has some scattered spotting occasionally through the text. Has a slightly scuffed area at the very top of the front free endpaper where is looks as if a price has been erased. Gilt edged on all sides.
Blue cloth covered boards have lovely gilt decoration to the front and spine. Again in good order. There is some mild rubbing to the corner tips, outside edges and spine ends. With just some light markings and a small indent mark on the back. The gilt decoration remains bright and this is an attractive antique book.
