1900s Christmas Books Including A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens - Antique Book

A lovely antique version of Charles Dickens' five Christmas books with an attractive Art Nouveau spine. Undated but would have been published by Chapman & Hall, London in the late 1890s or early 1900s. Condition and more details below.

The five Christmas Books are: A Christmas Carol; The Chimes; The Cricket and the Hearth; The Battle of Life and The Haunted Man.

Inside the pages are clean and tightly bound, with a little tanning to the endpapers and outside edges. Toning to top edge. With a neatly-inked name at the top of the front free endpaper, but no other writing or markings of previous ownership. The occasional folded corner. Has a black and white frontispiece of Mr Fezziwig's Ball from A Christmas Carol, else unillustrated.

In green cloth backed boards with gilt Art Nouveau floral decoration to the spine. With some slight fading and the odd light mark to the front and back. A couple of small chips to the head of the spine (see photos). The gilt decoration is bright and looks eye-catching on display.
