In good condition, here is a super antique copy of the Christmas Books of Charles Dickens. Undated but would have been published in the early 1900s by Collins Clear-Type Press, London. Lovely Art Nouveau decorative boards. With black and white illustrations.

The Christmas books are made up of five Christmas novellas: A Christmas Carol; The Chimes; The Cricket on the Hearth; The Battle of Life and The Haunted Man.

Inside the book opens onto Art Nouveau decorative endpapers, with some tanning here. Mild tanning also to the closed outside edges. Has the occasional faint dark handling mark through the text. This copy has not been written in and there are no other markings of previous ownership. With four black and white illustrations. Three pages have a little overlap of paper to the bottom corner. This is from when the book was first published and is minor.

Blue cloth over boards have black stamped decoration to the front and spine, and gilt titles. Also in very good order. With some light scuffing across the front, and a small area of black on the spine. Has some rubbing to the corners and spine ends. Otherwise clean, smart and un-faded. This is a striking Christmas book on display.
