1890s Christmas Stories by Charles Dickens / NB. NOT A Christmas Carol / Chapman & Hall, London / Good Condition / Illustrated Antique Book

In very good condition, here is a super antique copy of the Christmas Stories of Charles Dickens. Please note this volume does NOT include A Christmas Carol. Undated but with an inscription on the verso of the front free endpaper from 1880. Published by Chatto & Windus, London. Has a number of black and white illustrations.

Includes The Holly-Tree and The Seven Poor Travellers amongst the Christmas tales. There are fifteen short stories in total.

Inside the pages are clean, bright and tightly bound. Has the above-mentioned neatly inked inscription on the verso of the front free endpaper, but no other writing or markings of previous ownership. Gapes open at the gutter in one place, but not effecting the binding which is very tight and strong.

Red boards have ornate black stamped decoration to the front and spine, gilt Dickens signature to the front and titles to spine. Also all in good order. There is a faded area on the back board (see photos). With some rubbing to the cloth on the corners and spine ends, and a small bump to the top rear corner. Overall very clean and smart.
