Here is a comprehensive antique edition of The Treasury of Bible Knowledge Being a Dictionary of The Books, Persons, Places, Events and Other Matters of Which Mention is Made in Holy Scripture by The Rev. John Ayre. Published in 1862 by Longman, Green, Longman and Roberts of London. In a fine binding with marbled page edges and endpapers, and with multiple illustrations in the text. Nearly 950 pages!

Inside the pages are clean, bright and tightly bound. Has an inked name at the top of the title page and the same name again at the top of the first page, otherwise no other writing or markings of previous ownership. Has a black and white fold-out landscape frontispiece, colour fold-out maps, black illustrated full-page plates plus illustrations in the text.

In a fine calf leather binding with ornate decoration to the spine. Again in top order, with a few light scuffs to the boards and extremities plus a little peeling of the leather top surface on the edges. The gilt decoration is shiny bright, and this is a very attractive copy.
