1930s Flowers by Janet Harvey Kelman / 48 Beautiful Colour Plates Arranged by Colour / Vintage Book in Very Good Condition

In very good condition, here is a delightful vintage book of wildflowers. Undated but published in the 1930s by Thomas Nelson and Sons, Ltd as part of their "Shown To The Children" series. This is a lovely book for anyone interested in flowers or botanical paintings and artwork. Initially designed for children and addressed to that age group, it is so detailed, that today this would be considered an adult publication. Slightly larger than pocket-sized.

Easy to use as it is so simply laid out. The flowers are cleverly categorised by their colour. With 48 absolutely delightful colour plates (see photos), which are all present. Each flower gets a full description and there is a full Index at the end. The pages are clean and bright with no writing or markings of previous ownership. The top closed edge is gilt, other edges untrimmed.

Olive-green cloth covered boards have gilt decoration to the front and spine, and a colour paste down illustration to the front. Also in good order. With a bump to the bottom front corner and one to the rear board. With a couple of faint dark spots otherwise clean, smart and with shiny gilt.
