In good condition, here is a super antique cookery book. Published in 1850 by Cameron & Ferguson, Glasgow. A Complete System of Modern Cookery and Domestic Economy by Alexander Murray. Packed full of recipes and information. Also has eight black and white plates (see photos).

Inside the pages are clean and tightly bound with no writing or markings of previous ownership. Top edge is tinted brown, with some mild tanning to the other two sides.

Colourful bright orange cloth covered boards have black decoration and titles to the front, back and spine. With some bumps to the top edge of the rear board. The spine has had a tear repaired on the rear joint, and a darkened strip next to the front joint. Has rubbing to the cloth on the corner and spine ends to reveal boards beneath in places. Has some fraying to the cloth at the spine head. With a small frayed area also on the top edge of the front board. A few marks to the boards, but most of the black writing can still be discerned.
