In good condition, here is an antique hardback leather bound copy of Villette by Charlotte Bronte in two volumes. Published in 1924 by John Grant, Edinburgh. With some rubbing to the leather being the main condition point to note, detailed below.
Inside the pages are clean and tightly bound with no writing or inscriptions. With just some occasional scattered spotting. Has a black and white frontispiece and two further photos in each: of locations, and of the original manuscript. The top closed edges are gilt.
In a blue leather binding with blue cloth sides. The leather spines have five raised bands with gilt decoration in each compartment and gilt titles. The blue leather has some rubbing and scuffs to the corners and sides, this has removed a little of the blue outer layer in a couple of places. The spines have some rubbing along the joints, ends and raised bands. Otherwise the bindings are really good and strong with no cracked hinges and look eye-catching on display.
Both tight, square books. Your antique copy of Villette will be wrapped with care in tissue and ribbon* and will be sent well packaged. I am always happy to add a gift card with a message to the parcel.
