Has an inked name at the top of the front free endpaper and pencil price to paste down, but no other writing or markings of previous ownership. Spotting to edges. The top edge is tinted red. Opens onto a black and white plate frontispiece showing a reproduction from the original manuscript of The History of England. This retains it's original tissue guard. Has super watercolour portrait illustrated endpapers by Jane's sister Cassandra Austen (see photos).\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWith a striking cover of red papered boards with elaborate gilt floral stamped decoration to the front and also on the back.
