In very good condition. Between 1968 and 1977 Heron Books of London produced the set of Austen's works as a tribute to the author. Bound in cyan-blue real lambskin leather. Ornately embellished with 23ct gold detailing to spines, covers and all page edges. The volumes open onto pale blue silk moiré endpapers. This edition has pale-blue book ribbon markers, and black and white illustrations by different artists in each volume (see photos). Condition in detail below.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe novels are: Sense and Sensibility; Pride and Prejudice; Mansfield Park; Emma, with Northanger Abbey and Persuasion being bound together in one volume. This represents a complete collection of all six of Austen's finished novels.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eInside the pages are clean, bright and tightly bound. Has an inked inscription opposite the half-title page of Pride and Prejudice, but no other writing or markings of previous ownership. The books have gold on all three edges which is bright and sparkly - with some scuffing. With pale-blue moiré silk endpapers - also beautiful and unmarked (see photos).\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe stunning leather covers are also very good. They are un-faded and all of the gold decoration remains sparkly bright. The front boards have ornate gold decoration and the rear boards are plain blue leather. The spines are delightful with slightly raised bands and compartments. There is elaborate gold work here and also white kid leather title and author plates.
