A Christmas Carol & A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens - Illustrated Vintage Book

In excellent condition, here is an attractive volume of a number of Dickens stories, which includes: A Tale of Two Cities; A Christmas Carol; The Chimes; The Cricket on the Hearth; The Battle of Life and The Haunted Man. The latter being the five Dickens Christmas novellas. Undated, but research shows it to have been published by Hazell, Watson and Viney of London in the 1930s. An illustrated edition featuring the excellent original artwork featured in the first editions of these stories (see photos). More detail below.

Inside the pages are clean and tightly bound, and the book has never been written in. A slight brown blemish to the opening front paste down.

In blue cloth backed boards. The front board has blind-stamped decoration comprising of the signature of Charles Dickens in an ornate border, and gilt titles to the spine. Has a few faint marks to the boards - but minor. With some slight rubbing to the corners and spine ends - again minor. Overall a smart, tight and square edition.
