1920s Good Wives by Louisa May Alcott / Bell & Sons Ltd, London / Illustrated in Colour / Charming Vintage Hardback Edition

Here is a lovely copy of Good Wives by Louisa May Alcott. Undated but would have been published in the 1920s by G. Bell & Sons Ltd, London. With eight colour plates by MV Wheelhouse.

Inside the book opens onto charming illustrated endpapers. There is a small name on the front paste down and small stamp opposite in the top corner of the front free endpaper (see photos). There are some tanning and spotting marks to some of the pages and a couple of the pages have some faint dark handling marks (see photos). The top closed edge is tinted red. The book has developed a mild lean over time.

In super light brown cloth covered boards with cream decoration and titles to the front and spine. All in top order, clean bright and smart. Has a small bump to the top edge of the rear board and a slight crease to the top front corner.
