Condition in detail below.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Grey Fairy Book was originally published in 1900 by Longmans, Green and Co., London. This copy is one of those first editions. Super, sparkling gilt decoration to the boards.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eLang had grown up with a love of myths and fables and towards the end of the 1880s he began to collect and publish some of his favourite tales. The Blue Fairy Book, was the result, published in 1889 it met with great critical acclaim. The Red Fairy book appeared in Christmas of the following year. Lang went on to produce a series of twelve collections of fairy tales, published between 1889 and 1910. Each volume is distinguished by its own colour. In all, 437 tales from a broad range of cultures and countries are presented. The Grey Fairy Book includes stories from all over the world including France, Germany and Italy.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eInside the pages are clean, bright and tightly bound, with just the occasional light spotting. Has an inked inscription on the half-title, but no other writing or markings of previous ownership. The frontispiece has the original tissue guard in place - clean and smart. The outside edges are shiny gilt. A tight, square copy.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eGrey cloth over boards have gilt decoration and titles to the front and spine. Again in absolutely top order. Some very slight spotting along the spine joint.
