1875 The Life and Surprising Adventures of Robinson Crusoe / T Nelson & Sons, London / Antique Book Nearly 150 Years Old / In Good Condition

At nearly 150 years old, here is a super antique copy of The Life and Surprising Adventures of Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe. Published in 1875 by T. Nelson and Sons, London. With a colour frontispiece and many black and white illustrations in the text (see photos). In good condition.

Opens onto a neatly inked inscription dated 1876 on the front free endpaper, but no other writing or markings of previous ownership. Has some spotting to the endpapers and around the page edges. The colour frontispiece still has the original tissue guard in place. The bottom half of the first few pages are a little loose, but they remain firmly bound at the top half, and otherwise the binding is very good and strong.

Blue cloth covered boards have black and gilt decoration to the front and spine, and a colour paste down. Again in top order. With some rubbing to the cloth on the corners and at the spine ends. The gilt has remained bright.
