With the original bright dust wrapper.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eInside - opens and closes with map endpapers drawn by Tolkien. With a faint light brown stain mark to the bottom corner of the front paste down map (see photos). There is then a colour frontispiece and further colour and black line drawn illustrations all by Tolkien. Mild tanning to the outside edges and a couple of very faint, light brown blemishes to fore-edge - but minor. No inscriptions or markings of previous ownership.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eGreen boards have dark green Smaug decoration to the front, back and spine. In very good order having been well protected by the dust wrapper.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe unclipped dust jacket itself has rubbing along the joints. Edge wear nicks and chips to corners and spine ends, with some small areas of loss. Some splits on the joints (see photos). Faint brown mark on the rear inner flap. The jacket has now been protected for the future by the addition of a removable archival plastic sleeve, and looks very presentable indeed.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eYour vintage copy of The Hobbit will be wrapped with care in tissue and ribbon* and sent well packaged.
