The spine has five raised bands, and ornate gilt decoration to the compartments. Black leather title plate and gilt titles. Has rubbing around the outside of the boards and to the leather corner pieces. The paper has rubbed away on the edges to reveal boards beneath and has a chip out of the board on the front fore-edge (see photos). Rubbing also to the surface of the papered sides.
