1910 A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens / Scarce Antique Book / Daily Chronicle, London / Beautifully Illustrated / In Excellent Condition

This is an extremely scarce edition of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol. Undated but would have been published in 1910 by The Daily Chronicle, London. Very different in feel and design to any other edition of A Christmas Carol that I have come across. With gorgeous tipped-in illustrations by Ethel F Everett, these are reminiscent of Arthur Rackham and they wonderfully evoke the ghostly aspects of the story (see photos). In very good condition for a book of 114 years old. 

Inside the pages are clean and tightly bound. Has light scattered spotting through the text and to the closed outside edges. With the occasional nicked edge. All of the twelve tipped-in colour plates are present as called for. One plate has creasing to a corner. Has tanning to the front free endpaper where there is also an inked inscription. 

In brown papered thick boards with a paste down illustration of Tiny Tim and dark green stamped titles and border. Again in top order, with just a couple of light scuffs to the rear board and also to the top of the illustrated paste down.
