1907 The Tenant of Wildfell Hall by Anne Bronte in Two Volumes / John Grant, Edinburgh / Lovely Antique Bronte Book / In Very Good Condition

In very good condition, here is a lovely antique edition of Anne Bronte's novel The Tenant of Wildfell Hall in two volumes. Published in 1907 by John Grant of Edinburgh as part of a series called the Novels of the Sisters Bronte, or The Thornton Edition. Fairly large in size.

Both volumes open with a different portrait of the author as a black and white frontispiece. There is one further black and white photo in Volume I, being a location. Has an armorial bookplate on the front paste down of each volume, otherwise no other writing or markings of previous ownership. Mild tanning and spotting to endpapers and scattered spotting through the text. The top edges are gilt and the other edges untrimmed, with some spots to the fore-edges where they protrude.

In olive-green cloth covered boards with attractive ornate gilt decoration to the spines. In top order. Has one scuff, and a faint dark mark to the cloth on the front of Volume II. The gilt decoration is bright and un-faded and this is an eye-catching set on display.
