Originally published posthumously in eight volumes in 1774, it served as an all-encompassing, highly accessible guide to geology, geography, and the animal kingdom. This copy is far more accessible version, and is complete as published in the one volume.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eInside the pages are clean and tightly bound with no inscriptions or markings of previous ownership. All of the black and white plates are also in top order.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn a lovely deep-brown leather binding. The spine has four raised bands, each with gilt decoration. Has some rubbing to the leather corner pieces to reveal boards beneath. A little rubbing also to the spine ends and just a few light scuffs to the spine - but minor. The marbled papered boards have kept a good colour. Again just some rubbing around the outside edges, and to the surface on the back.
