c1910 Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte / Collins Clear-Type Press, London / Beautiful Antique Illustrated Book / Lovely Ornate Gilt Decoration

A gorgeous antique edition of Charlotte Bronte's novel Jane Eyre. Undated but would have been published around the 1910s by Collins Clear-type Press, London. With four colour plates by Willy Pogany and a colour illustrated title page.

Inside the pages are clean and tightly bound with just the occasional spot. With a couple of very small nicks to the fore-edge of two latter pages. Has a book plate on the front free endpaper, but no other writing or markings of previous ownership. With pale blue marbled endpapers and a thin ribbon place marker sewn in. The top edge is gilt. A tight, square copy with no cracked hinges.

Pale-blue cloth covered boards have shiny gilt decoration to the front and spine. Again in top order. The spine has tanned and spotted a little in comparison to the front and back. A very attractive copy indeed.
