c1903 Little Women and Little Wives by Louisa May Alcott / Frederick Warne & Co., London / Lovely Antique Book In Excellent Condition

In excellent condition, here is a lovely antique hardback edition of Louisa May Alcott's Little Women and Little Wives. Published by Frederick Warne & Co, London. This copy is undated but I have had a previous copy with an inscription dated 1903. A striking and attractive volume.

Inside the pages are clean and tightly bound, with some tanning. Has an inscription on the front free endpaper, but no other writing or markings of previous ownership. With a small closed tear at the bottom of the front free endpaper (see photos), and some small loss to a few corners. Cracks open at the hinge in the middle but the binding is good and strong. This is an unillustrated edition but has decorative initials and chapter footers.

In eye-catching rust-brown cloth covered boards with black and gilt decoration to the front and spine. All in top order, with just a little rubbing to the shiny, bright gilt - but minor. A very attractive book that looks beautiful on display.
