Here is a super first UK edition copy of A Night to Remember by Walter Lord. Published by Longmans, Green & Co., London in 1956. In very good condition, richly illustrated and in the original dust wrapper. Condition in detail below.
A Night to Remember is a highly regarded non-fiction book that depicts the sinking of the RMS Titanic on 15 April 1912. The book was hugely successful and is still considered a definitive resource about the Titanic. Walter Lord interviewed many survivors of the disaster as well as drawing on books, memoirs, and articles that they had written. Still the best general account of the Titanic disaster, and the basis of Roy Ward Baker's memorable feature film starring Kenneth More from 1958.
Inside the pages are clean, bright and tightly bound with no writing or other markings of previous ownership. Has diagrams of the ship as endpapers. There is some very mild tanning here. Richly illustrated with a number of black and white photos. The top edge is tinted dark blue. Also includes a passenger list and some facts about the Titanic at the end of the book.
In the original colourful dust wrapper. Unclipped, bright and un-faded. With some creasing along the top edge. Has a nick to the top edge of the rear of the jacket. With some creasing, chips and small loss to the top corners and top of the spine. The jacket has now been protected for the future by the addition of a removable plastic sleeve, and looks smart and colourful.
