Published in 1891 by Chapman \u0026amp; Hall, London. Quite possibly un-read as a couple of the early pages remain uncut. With sixty-seven black and white illustrations. More details below.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe five Christmas Books are: A Christmas Carol; The Chimes; The Cricket and the Hearth; The Battle of Life and The Haunted Man.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eInside the pages are clean, bright and tightly bound. A couple of the early pages have never been cut open (see photos). They can be opened using the edge of a credit card, letter opener etc. Pencil inscription to an early blank endpaper dated 1902. Has some spotting to the outside edges. The frontispiece still have the original tissue-guard intact (slightly tanned).\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDark-red cloth backed boards have a gilt stamped crown in the centre of the front board, and gilt titles to the spine. The boards have kept a good deep-red colour with just a couple of very faint water marks to the top front edge - but these can mostly only be seen by holding the book right up to the light. The red of the spine has faded a bit in comparison to the front and back.
