Despite his busy career as an MP and Under-Secretary of State, he published at least one collection of fantasy stories nearly every year between 1869 and the end of his life.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eUnlike many of his contemporaries who wrote strictly moralistic tales, Knatchbull-Hugessen’s stories were noted for being \"light and brilliant\" while still containing a notable amount of violence and fantastical danger.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eJ.R.R. Tolkien explicitly cited Knatchbull-Hugessen as a significant childhood influence. Some mild rubbing to the cloth in places to remove a little of the surface red. A few very faint marks - but minor. A little loss to the cloth a the spine head. Slight bump to back rear board on the bottom corner.
