Allen was Kentucky's first important novelist. His book is set in the 1850s around a romance between a naturalist and a society girl.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eInside the pages are clean, bright and tightly bound. Spotting to the endpapers and the frontispiece tissue guard. Two super book plates on the front paste down and front free endpaper. All edges are shiny gilt.
